Application of Innovative Integrated Ultrafiltration Device in Power Plant Boiler Feedwater System

  • Over the past two decades, ultrafiltration technology has developed rapidly and is used to treat various highly variable water bodies, including surface water, groundwater, seawater, and wastewater. It can be used as a primary treatment or as a pretreatment for reverse osmosis and nanofiltration. The boiler feedwater system in thermal power plants is one of the earliest industries to adopt ultrafiltration technology, with a large number of ultrafiltration devices in operation. However, due to rapid development and the lack of unified standards, there are significant differences in the specifications and dimensions of ultrafiltration membrane components among manufacturers, resulting in poor interchangeability. At the same time, ultrafiltration is divided into two categories: external pressure and internal pressure. There are also differences in auxiliary systems, pipeline design, and operating modes, which further lead to a decrease in interchangeability. When the ultrafiltration membrane components reach the upper limit of their service life, it is extremely difficult to replace them, and the required investment in land, equipment, funds, and labor also increases accordingly. This article elaborates on innovative ultrafiltration membrane fibers and integrated ultrafiltration devices, providing new ideas for the upgrading and transformation of existing ultrafiltration systems by utilizing their characteristics and advantages.
